The grid-like Sella galaxy is formed from a huge labyrinth of large voids separated by galactic filaments of different lengths and sizes.

Scientists of the Polus corporation were able to find out that the galaxy got its grid-like shape due to a quasar raging in it, which once went out having lost its recharge. As a consequence of the disappeared source of gravity, dark matter began to spread chaotically across the expanses of Sella. For millions of years in chaos, galactic filaments began to form around clusters of dark matter, which later formed a kind of thread network.

The reason for the green glow of Sella was the accumulation of highly ionized oxygen, which is part of the interstellar gas that abounds in this galaxy.

It is possible to find lots of fascinating places among the endless thread maze. Each of them definitely deserves your attention.

Galactic ‘Great Wall’

Researchers have discovered this galactic landmark quite recently. This is the longest of the galactic filaments currently found in this galaxy.

Scientists believe that the discovered phenomenon is the result of the fusion of millions of small filaments into one huge supercluster, since then known as the galactic ‘Great Wall’. This structure got its name in honor of the earthly wonder of the world - the Great Wall of China.

The estimated length of the wall is 70.5 million parsecs.
